Cannabis
You heard it right, cannabis use in Massachusetts is legal! However it is important to know how to use it safely and legally. Check out the below video for general laws and the following text for important Martha's Vineyard specific laws.
Cannabis on Martha's Vineyard
The only place to purchase cannabis on-Island is at Island Time, a state-licensed facility in Vineyard Haven, as long as you’re 21 or older. You’ll need to show a government-issued ID
Locally owned, Island Time offers a selection of adult-use cannabis products from leading Massachusetts cultivators and manufacturers, as well as national brands. Visitors are encouraged to stop by to learn more about available products and responsible adult use.
While cannabis is legal for adults 21 and older in Massachusetts, please remember that Massachusetts prohibits public consumption of cannabis, and it should never be taken across state lines. Customers should always follow applicable state, federal and transportation-provider regulations.
Travelers especially should be aware that federal and state transportation rules may apply when traveling to and from Martha’s Vineyard. In particular, federal law restricts the transportation of cannabis aboard aircraft. Cannabis use is also prohibited aboard Steamship Authority vessels and on Steamship Authority property.
