While there are lots of ferry options May-October, the ONLY year-round ferry service and the ONLY service that carries cars, motorcycles and trucks is the Steamship Authority. The Steamship Authority operates ALL day, EVERY day from Woods Hole on Cape Cod to Martha's Vineyard. The trip between Woods Hole and Martha’s Vineyard takes 45 minutes and bicycles and pets are welcome.
You are able to walk onto any of the Steamship Authority ferries without a reservation, however you must have an advanced reservation to bring a car, truck, motorcycle or RV. Many lodging, shops and restaurants are open through the December holidays, and of course our beautiful beaches, golf, fishing, biking, hiking and more are all open and ready to be enjoyed.
