Mansion House Inn & Health Club
Celebrating 40 Years of Family-Owned Hospitality on Martha’s Vineyard
Looking for the perfect Martha’s Vineyard hotel that combines history, comfort, and exceptional service? For over 40 years, Mansion House Inn & Health Club in Vineyard Haven has been welcoming guests to experience the best of island hospitality.
Originally built in 1794 and completely rebuilt in 2003, Mansion House blends historic charm with modern amenities. The Inn has hosted four U.S. Presidents and countless celebrities—at one point, even President Obama’s press corps reported from the harbor-viewing cupola. Guests today enjoy the same high level of service, while the onsite Health Club offers fitness classes open to visitors and locals alike.

Stunning Views & Central Location
One of the Inn’s most popular features is its 360-degree roof deck, which showcases breathtaking views of Vineyard Haven Harbor, historic Main Street, church steeples, the Lagoon, and even the local ball field. Whether it’s a morning sunrise or a summer night game, the view never disappoints.
Best of all, Mansion House is walking distance from the Vineyard Haven ferry and close to shops, restaurants, beaches, live theater, and more—making it one of the most convenient places to stay on Martha’s Vineyard.

A Family-Owned Legacy
Owners Susan and Sherm Goldstein purchased Mansion House in 1985, turning it into the vibrant, family-owned inn it is today. Now joined by their children—and even grandchildren—the Goldsteins have built a true island legacy. Guests experience not just a stay, but a warm connection to the Vineyard community.
Why Visit Martha’s Vineyard in the Fall?
Many islanders agree that autumn is the best time of year on Martha’s Vineyard. The water is still warm, summer crowds have left, shops offer seasonal discounts, and the island’s natural beauty shines. For visitors planning a fall getaway to Martha’s Vineyard, Mansion House is the ideal home base. With its central location, guests can explore beaches, shopping, theater, movies, and of course, enjoy the simple pleasure of an ice cream cone after a day of adventure.
