If you have only one day to spend on Martha’s Vineyard, Edgartown is a wonderful place to explore. Known for its elegant charm, whaling-era history, and seaside beauty, this town is one of the most picturesque on the Island. With historic captains’ houses, boutique shops, beautiful beaches, and a lively dining scene, Edgartown offers the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure.

To get here, you can take the Falmouth Ferry, which runs seasonally, or arrive year-round via the Steamship Authority Ferry into Vineyard Haven or Oak Bluffs (seasonal as well). From either town, hop on the Vineyard Transit Authority bus for a quick and affordable ride into Edgartown. The bus station drops you off right in the center of town, within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the harbor. Taxis and bike rentals are also available if you prefer. Once you arrive, get ready for a full day of food, fun, and discovery.
