Martha’s Vineyard Film Festival, March 16-19
The Martha’s Vineyard Film Festival takes place at the quaint Chilmark Community Center. Enjoy the incredible lineup of movies, with the opportunity to speak with directors, editors, and members of the community.

MVY Radio Big Chili Contest, March 25
The MVY Radio Big Chili Contest, which celebrates its 31st anniversary this year, kicks off Spring with a bit of heat! On-Island friends and groups of friends from off-Island all come together to warm up the season with some spicy treats and milder bites for a full-day event with live music, tasty chili, fun drinks, and an overall rockin' good time.


Spectrum LGBT+ Film Festival, April 27-30
The Martha’s Vineyard Film Society’s newest, 4-day festival presents “a world perspective on LGBT stories, people and issues” with a variety of films, guest speakers, discussions, and a special event focused on LGBT youth.

Martha’s Vineyard Wine Festival, May 11-14
This 4-day festival is like no other wine experience. Taking place Island-wide at various private homes and businesses, visitors enjoy perfect pairings of wine and food in one of the most beautiful settings in the world, Martha's Vineyard.

Pink & Green Weekend, May 12-14
Pink & Green Weekend celebrates Spring and Mother's Day with numerous fun-filled events, including a Pink & Green Adult Prom, a local pub crawl, Mother's Day brunches, a pink & green dog show, themed sales at independent merchants, a Cirque Du Pink & Green plant show that transforms an Island nursery into a circus, and much more.

MV Environmental Film Festival, May 25-28

Nature as Inspiration: MV Environmental Film Festival spans four days, and combines environmental films, discussions, and an art exhibit. Focusing on one of the issues deeply important to the coastal community of Martha’s Vineyard, the Environmental Film Festival brings together experts, community members, and special guests.


Chamber Music Society's Spring Concert, May 28
The Martha's Vineyard Chamber Music Society kicks off the season with one of their most popular and well attended events of the year - the Spring Concert! Come listen to the melodic sounds of distinguished musicians with an ensemble of flute, oboe, and piano.

Spring on Martha’s Vineyard brings a burst of events in theater, music, galleries, agriculture, and culinary delights in what is known as SPRING FOR THE ARTS. Martha's Vineyard is the perfect place to witness a vibrant reawakening from a calm winter slumber, and enjoy a perfect Spring fling. Plus, the nice weather and reduced rates for lodging make visiting in the Spring even more appealing. SPRING FOR THE ARTS takes place from mid-March to mid-June, so there is ample time to take advantage of all the season has to offer.

Murder Mystery Night, March 12

The Martha’s Vineyard Film Festival, March 17 – 20 
Grab your bag of fresh popcorn, cozy up on a couch and indulge your senses at this spectacular annual festival. Every March, the rural heart of Martha’s Vineyard transforms for a weekend filled with compelling and entertaining films, fabulous local food, and conversations with filmmakers, writers, and actors from around the world. Leaves, Seeds and Berries: Using Colored Pencils to Get Great Color and Texture with Lynn Hoeft, March 26
Working from life, this one day workshop will provide an introduction to this vibrant, portable and mess-free medium. Among the topics covered will include: how to use layering to build bold or nuanced color; how to blend colors for maximum impact; how to use both form and color to give the illusion of a 3D object on a 2D surface. Cribbage Tournament, March 27

Monday Night at the Movies, The Martha’s Vineyard Playhouse, All March
This fabulous series is hosted and curated by Jamie Alley, and is a very-Vineyard experience in its uniqueness. Jamie is a veritable font of fascinating movie facts which he shares with the audience at each film.
