Do you have an idea for a product, process, or procedure but don’t know how to bring it to market? Are you in business and looking to expand – but need help? Then The Mentoring Program may be just what you need to ignite, inspire and improve your short or long-term business goals.
At The Mentoring Program you will: 1. Set aside dedicated time every month to work on every aspect of your idea to bring it to reality. This is all about YOU, and helping you build your path to success!; 2. Access a wide range of mentors who give you all the feedback, suggestions and loving criticism you need to grow your business. You’ll be forging relationships that just may become the greatest assets to building your business; 3. Access business resources, build your entrepreneurial skill sets and practice your pitches in a supportive environment; 4. Meet people who will really help you build your business – there’s no fluff here! And all of this is yours for FREE! (And by “free,” we mean it won’t cost you any money: instead, your investment will be your time and effort. But, hey, you’re an entrepreneur, so you already have enthusiasm & drive!) And at The Mentoring Program, you’ll get experience, confidence and the chance to build your network while you build your business. What We Need From Participants: a. An Executive Summary of your business idea submitted via email. b. Your commitment to attend all 7 Mentoring Meetings. Meetings are held at the Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce from 6-8pm. Check back soon for upcoming dates! |
Do you love the idea of true entrepreneurship?
Are you excited by innovation? Are you ready to share your real life experience with entrepreneurs? The Mentor Program might be the most fun you can find on a Monday night! Based on successful models around Massachusetts, we’ve created the place where your experience, insights and feedback will be appreciated and put to good use. ANY Islander who is willing to share their knowledge is welcome! We recruit a cohort of entrepreneurs, coach them on their elevator pitch, some basic financial terminology and how to develop SMART goals, and then they’re ready and eager to meet YOU! And there’s no long-term commitment! Come as you are, come as often as you like, and feel free to bring your friends. Come to as many meetings as you like – there’s no commitment for the mentors and snacks are provided. Some Mentoring Guidelines Be awesome. Give constructive criticism. Remember that we’re all there to help the entrepreneurs. No solicitation. |
Mentor Nights Look Like This:
6:00pm Snacks, drinks, set-ups, networking and mingling
6:15pm Introduction, quick icebreaker, logistics
6:30pm Pitches Begin Each entrepreneur has up to 3 minutes to introduce themselves & their business,
give any updates on their progress, and make their ask for the evening.
For example: one may be working on developing a business logo and want some design and marketing help.
Another might need help developing a 3-year financial plan, and another might need advice on manufacturing.
Basically, the entrepreneurs get to ask for help with anything related to their business.
7-7:45pm Breakout Sessions Entrepreneurs go to a designated area, and mentors who are drawn to that business idea and/or the request you made in your pitch join that entrepreneur for the first of two 20-minute break-out sessions. In these sessions, entrepreneurs get the undivided attention of the mentors to ask questions and soak up all their expertise. After 20 minutes, we’ll break for restrooms or to refill your drinks, and then have a second 20-minute session. That way mentors get the chance to meet with at least 2 entrepreneurs, and entrepreneurs get the benefit of talking to several mentors.
7:45pm It’s a Wrap!
