Did you know Martha’s Vineyard was home to the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks, a collegiate summer baseball team that competes in the New England Collegiate Baseball League? On Friday June 14 they take on the Bay Sox and on Saturday June 15 you can catch them competing against the Mystic Schooners, both games start at 6:30pm. Buy him some peanuts and cracker jacks and feel like a kid again! Sip on some frothy goodness Raise a glass to dad at one of the Island’s local breweries. If dad appreciates a cold one you don’t want to miss the chance to visit Offshore Ale brew pub in Oak Bluffs. Treat dad to a performance of the Vineyard Sound, the all male acapella group made up of 10 talented singers from various New England colleges covering Sam Cooke hits, Beatles classics, and various contemporary songs. The Vineyard Sound performs Friday June 14th at 8pm at the United Methodist Church in Oak Bluffs and Saturday, June 15th at 5pm at the Federated Church in Edgartown. If he’s a night owl looking hit the dance floor and give him a taste of some of the sounds of the Island’s most popular bands. The reggae funk musicians the Jelly Roll Horns perform at The Port Hunter in Edgartown on Saturday June 15th at 10pm and The Dukes of Circuit Ave take the stage at the Ritz in Oak Bluffs at the same time.
