22 New Things to Do on Martha’s Vineyard in 2022

Every year on Martha’s Vineyard brings new businesses, new opportunities for fun and even more excuses to keep coming back. This year is shaping up to be even more exciting, especially as we welcome the return of many of our annual in-person events like the Oak Bluffs HarborFest and the Edgartown fireworks. We’re gearing up for a banner summer here on Martha’s Vineyard and we can’t wait to share it with you! If you’re planning a trip to the Island this year check out some of the newest additions to Martha’s Vineyard in 2022. 

Act Two Second Hand Store, Vineyard Haven

The Larder While The Larder in Vineyard Haven isn’t technically new, it has been getting a big makeover over the last few months! The Larder is set to transform into a specialty meat and cheese shop that will be opening later this season. New in 2022 expect homemade sausage and charcuterie from Chef Tyler Potter and other local delicacies and delights curated by Rose Willet of North Tisbury Farm and Whippoorwill Farm.  
Island Time The only locally owned adult-use cannabis dispensary on Martha’s Vineyard can be found on Mechanic Street, just across the road from Little House Cafe. All their products are locally produced in West Tisbury, and they offer a vast selection of cannabis goods, such as pre-rolls, vapes, flower, edibles, and CBD tinctures, to name a few. 
S&S Kitchenette Located on Main Street, S&S Kitchenette is an exciting new provisions, retail and event space coming soon to Martha's Vineyard, courtesy of private chef Spring Sheldon. S&S Kitchenette provides locally sourced, handmade meals to go, offering daily menus, meal kits, and catering options for large parties that will be available for pick up by day. By night, the space will transform to host events, such as exclusive chef dinners, cooking classes, tastings, demos, and more!  
Act Two Second Hand Store A new non-profit second hand store has opened up on Main Street! Act Two exists to create a sustainable and perpetual source of funding supporting local culture and education in performance arts on Martha’s Vineyard. Offered are a variety of pr-owned and upcycled items, such as furniture, artwork, jewelry, fine china, and more! Better yet, all proceeds are gifted to local non-profit arts and education programs.

Martha’s Vineyard Cheesery, Vineyard Haven

Creativity Coaching Althea Freeman-Miller of Althea Designs on Beach Road is hosting Creativity Coaching Workshops this summer! Make use of her colorful studio by creating art, journaling, playing, meditating, and exploring your curiosity. Guided by Althea, the goal of each session is to establish coping strategies and action plans to achieve your goals creatively. Open to individuals or groups, this is a great opportunity to explore in 2022.  
Miner Family Gallery Sharing space with Althea Designs this summer is the Miner Family Gallery, a new contemporary art gallery which showcases the colorful and larger-than-life paintings of Craig D. Miner, as well as the thought-provoking sculptural work of his son, Avery Miner. This working studio offers a modern take on classic Vineyard styles and is open year-round on the harbor in Vineyard Haven. 
Catboat Coffee  Coming soon to Tisbury Marketplace! Catboat Coffee Co. is a year-round coffee shop that combines specialty beverages, Lebanese sandwiches and dips, a rotating selection of cheeses, and Island-made artisanal crafts. This shop is the new home of complimentary food brands Epicure and Martha's Vineyard Cheesery. It is set to open summer/fall 2022! 
Epicure Located at the new Catboat Coffee Co, Epicure is a premier and authentic Lebanese Farm-to-Sandwich food business on Martha's Vineyard. Inspired by the much acclaimed cuisine of Lebanon, (the birthplace of Epicure's creator Naji Boustany), Epicure brings together local Island ingredients and the color and richness of flavor of Naji's home. 
Martha’s Vineyard Cheesery Also located at the new Catboat Coffee Co, Martha’s Vineyard Cheesery is a cut-to-order cheese counter. Masters of charcuterie and artisanal cheeses, Martha’s Vineyard Cheesery has been serving Martha’s Vineyard since 2020, and will be offering prepared and a la carte charcuterie boards and grazing boxes at Catboat Coffee Co later this summer.

 Aalia’s Coffee A new coffee house located in Oak Bluffs! Aalia’s Coffee recently took over what was previously Seaweed’s on Kennebec Ave and is now open. This coffee shop offers a unique style and space which focuses on good music, excellent coffee, in addition to  breakfast and lunch foods inspired by Lebanese and Italian cultures.  
Morgan Hotel Still looking for a place to stay this summer? A classic, yet modern new boutique hotel is opening in the heart of Oak Bluffs! Previously Hotel Ginger (and Nashua House Hotel before that), The Morgan Hotel is now open for business and is currently booking for the summer 2022 season. The hotel’s unique guest rooms feature vaulted ceilings, whimsical dormers, and luxe bathrooms. Stay just steps away from Offshore Ale Co., Back Door Donuts, Ocean Park, and so much more.
 Dapper Open year-round, Dapper is a new affordable clothing store on Circuit Ave! Find brand name clothing and accessories without taking a trip off-island. This family-owned shop keeps fashion in mind and has a little bit of something for everyone in the family. 
Pride in Oak Bluffs: Save the date for June 10–12 and join the town of Oak Bluffs for the town’s first-ever Pride Parade and Events!

Rainy Day Souvenirs, clothing, toys, jewelry, home goods, gifts - you name it, Rainy Day has it all. This beloved year-round gift shop in downtown Vineyard Haven has been enjoyed by Islanders and visitors alike since 1973. Later this spring, it will also be coming to North Water Street in Edgartown! 
Franklin Hotel Experience all that Edgartown has to offer with the latest luxury boutique hotel! The Franklin Hotel is located on Upper Main Street, and features a garden patio, 18 chic guest rooms, all within walking distance to plenty of Edgartown’s shops, restaurants, and beaches. Aquila Located within the Aquinnah Cultural Center, Aquila is a new native-owned shopping experience that highlights local artists, creators, and innovators. Newly opened in May its beautiful shop is one of the first that you’ll see on your trip to the Gay Head Cliffs. In the shop, you can find stunning one of a kind pieces from native and local vendors, such as jewelry by local makers like Martha’s Vineyard Native and Aquinnah Jewelry, intricate dream catchers by WiththeWind, handcrafted mugs by JK Design Co, and so much more! Also serving delicious hot and cold brewed coffee by Martha’s Vineyard Coffee Company all season long! 
Fine Fettle Found on State Road in West Tisbury, Fine Fettle is the only medical and adult-use dispensary on Martha’s Vineyard. Fine Fettle’s state-of-the-art cultivation center produces premium cannabis products, from flowers to edibles. Rolling Bar This once-horse-trailer now mobile bar is available for rent for events and weddings this summer! Transform cocktail hour and bar areas with this adorable mobile bar, and stock it with your favorite mixers and spirits. You can even hire your own bartender, or request one of Rolling Bar’s own bartenders - the possibilities are endless. 
Mad Martha’s Ice Cream An Island staple, Mad Martha’s, is going mobile this year! Later this season, the new Mad Martha’s Ice Cream cart will be available for weddings and events. Stocked with your favorite flavors, this delicious experience is a great addition to your next party! They’re even introducing new flavors, including Back Door Donut Apple Fritter and Chilmark Coffee. Another update from Mad Martha’s in 2022 is the relocation of the Vineyard Haven storefront from Main Street to Union Street making it possible to grab your favorite flavor almost as soon as you step off the ferry at the Steamship Authority’s Vineyard Haven terminal.
