Home Education

A number of Island families choose home education for students in grades pre-K through 12.

Each family chooses a teaching style, curriculum, and format suited to their child’s individual learning style and in accordance with the family’s beliefs and educational philosophy. The flexible format permits a wide variety of learning experiences, including apprenticeships in Island businesses and non-profit organizations, trips abroad, livestock projects, and intimate community studies. Curriculum fairs, teaching seminars and workshops, and summer camp activities throughout New England are available on a regular basis.
