FOR Families Program

The FOR Families Program is a phone information and referral hotline and home
visiting program provided jointly by the Massachusetts Departments of Public Health
(DPH) and Transitional Assistance (DTA). Program services are available to DTA
clients who are no longer eligible to receive cash benefits from DTA because they
are approaching or have reached the twenty-four-month time limit. The FOR Families
Program provides follow-up, outreach and referral services; services are free
and participation is voluntary.

Serves Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. Provides educational support to families
having children receiving special education services. Has a lending library of
books and videos, conducts training on various special education issues. Advocates

New Hope offers two programs to Martha's Vineyard families. The Parent Aide Program
provides a trained and supervised volunteer Parent Aide to work with families
experiencing parental stress and situational crises. The Parenting Partners Program
provides parent aid services and limited respite care to families. Families receiving
our services are open clients with the Department of Social Services. Parenting
Partners are DSS foster parents.

Open the first and third Friday of each month. The WIC Program provides free food
and nutrition information to help keep pregnant women, infants and children under
