Residential and Independent Living Supports

The Residential and Independent Living Support Program provides a variety of services to individuals with disabilities allowing them to live independently in the community. Supports are customized to meet the needs of each individual. Funding for these services is provided by the Department of Mental Retardation.

Family Support Services

Family Support Services is a flexible program available to families that include a family member or family members with a developmental disability. The program strives to do "what it takes" to support families in their community and to reduce stress. Services and supports include:

• Information and referral.
• Home visits / consultation.
• Seminars, trainings, workshops.
• Limited financial support.
• Parent networking.
• Whatever it takes to support families.
• The program is funded by the Department of Mental Retardation.

Island Employment Services

A full-service employment agency for individuals with disabilities, funded through the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC). Services include vocational evaluation, job search assistance, job training if required, and additional supports required to achieve long-term employment success.

Island Counseling Center
Licensed Community Mental Health Center.

Licensed Outpatient Mental Health Program
The Island's comprehensive mental health service, providing a full range of psychiatric, psychological, and social work services for children, adolescents, families, and adults, including 24-hour emergency services. Board-certified psychiatrist for adults and children.

Elderly Home-Based Treatment Programs

Crisis Worker available 24 hours a day. Provides emergency psychiatric interventions. Sliding fee scale available. Referral to both in-patient or out-patient counseling as necessary. A program of the Island Counseling Center.

Licensed Outpatient Substance Abuse Program
Comprehensive program including individual and group services for treatment of alcohol and other substance abuse problems. State certified Driver Alcohol Education Program and Second Offender Program. Services include individual and group counseling, education, support, and referral. Medicaid and insurance accepted. Sliding fee scale available. Adults and youth. A program of the Island Counseling Center.

Provides nurses; home health aides; physical, occupational and speech therapists; medical social services; and health promotion services.

Provides confidential support services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, including counseling, support, and court advocacy. Individual and group counseling focuses on support, empowerment, and ending violence in people's lives. All services are free and confidential.
