Ferries are one of the most popular methods of transportation used by people traveling to Martha’s Vineyard. There are several options available from several destinations all over the eastern seaboard. Ferries operate on varying schedules throughout the year, depending on the season, and no matter where you’re coming from – there’s a ferry waiting to help you come to Martha’s Vineyard!

To the Steamship Authority ferry in Woods Hole

Take Route 93 South to Route 3 South to Route 6 west to Buzzards Bay.  Cross the Bourne Bridge and travel on Route 28 South approx. 13 miles to signs for parking or continue on to ferry docks.

To the Island Queen ferry in Falmouth

From the Bourne Bridge:

Follow Route 28 south for approximately 13 miles to the first set of traffic lights (Falmouth Hospital is on the right and Jones Road/Hyannis By-Pass is on the left). Turn left onto Jones Road.  Travel through the first traffic light and at the second traffic light turn right onto Route 28.   Continue on Route 28 for a ½-mile, past Falmouth Plaza on left, and bear left onto Falmouth Heights Road (Starbucks near corner).  Go 1/4 mile to the Island Queen Dock and Ticket Office.

To the Hy-line Cruises in Hyannis

Take Route 93 South to Route 3 South over the Sagamore Bridge to Route 6 East to Exit 6 towards Hyannis/Barnstable, follow Iyannough Road.  Keep right at the fork, follow signs for Airport and merge onto MA-132 S/Iyannough Rd.  At the traffic circle, take the 2nd exit onto Barnstable Rd. Continue onto Ocean St, see signs for ferry terminal on the left.

To the SeaStreak ferry in New Bedford, MA

Take Route I-93 South. Highway forks; stay right. (Note: highway sign reads: "93 South, Dedham-Providence.")

Take Exit 4: Route 24 South. (Note: This is a left lane exit) Distance to next exit 24 miles.
Take Exit 12: Route 140 South. Distance to next exit 19 miles.
Take Exit 2E/A: I-195 East towards Cape Cod. Distance to next exit is 1.3 miles.
Take Exit 15: Route 18 South/Downtown New Bedford.

To the Martha's Vineyard Fast Ferry  in North Kingstown, Rhode Island

Take Route I-93 South to I-95 South to Providence, Rhode Island

Take Exit 9: Route 4 South. (Note: This is a left lane exit) Distance to next exit 2 miles.
Take Exit 7B: Quonset Point/ Route 403. Distance to next exit 3 miles.
Take 403 East. Stay left at highway split (Note: follow signs for Quonset).
Follow 403 East for 3.5 miles to end. The ferry docks are on the right-hand side.
